URUGUAY

  • Resolutions 631,94 (28 December 1994), 407,95 (26 June 1995) and 773,95 (4 December 1995) authorized the installation and operation of computer networks using spread spectrum radio in the 915 MHz, 2.4 GHz and 5.7 GHz bands, but only for personal use.
  • "Decreto 114-003: Reglamento Sobre el Epectro Radioeléctrico," (Regulation on the Radioelectric Spectrum), Unidad Reguladora de los Servicios en Comunicaciones (URSEC), 25 March 2003. Capítulo V defines "bands of free use": "Artículo 14... El uso libre del espectro radioeléctrico no requiere de autorización de las estaciones ni asignación de frecuencia alguna. Ejemplos de uso libre lo constituyen las estaciones y sistemas de radiocomunicaciones de muy baja potencia de transmisión que cumplan con los parámetros establecidos en la reglamentación correspondiente...." (The free use of the radioelectric spectrum does not require authorization of the stations nor assignment of certain frequencies. Radiocommunication stations and systems of very low power that fulfill the parameters established in the corresponding regulation constitute examples of free use...)
